1

Paste your symbols

Enter ticker symbols in the Input box — one per line, or comma-separated. No exchange prefix needed.

2

Pick exchange & convert

Select NSE, BSE, or MCX above, then hit Convert. The output is formatted as EXCHANGE:SYMBOL.

3

Copy & import

Hit Convert & Copy Output — the result is copied automatically. Paste it into Watchlist Pro's Import dialog. Up to 1000 symbols at once. Tip: press Ctrl+Enter (or ⌘+Enter on Mac) to convert quickly.

Why use the Import Utility?

Watchlist Pro's bulk import expects every symbol in EXCHANGE:SYMBOL format — for example, NSE:RELIANCE rather than just RELIANCE. Most stock screeners, broker exports, and spreadsheet lists give you plain symbols without the exchange prefix.

This free tool adds the prefix in one click so you don't have to manually edit hundreds of lines in Excel. Everything runs in your browser — your symbol list is never uploaded to any server.

Privacy note: All conversion happens locally on your device. We do not store, log, or transmit the symbols you paste. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What input formats are supported?

Already formatted? If your symbols already include an exchange prefix (e.g. NSE:TCS), you can paste them directly into Watchlist Pro without using this tool.

How to import into Watchlist Pro

Once you have converted your symbols, follow these steps inside Zerodha Kite:

1

Install Watchlist Pro

Add the free Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store and open a Kite popout chart. See the full setup guide if you haven't installed it yet.

2

Create or select a watchlist

In the Watchlist Pro panel, create a new list for your import (e.g. "Bank Stocks" or "Nifty 50") or select an existing one from the dropdown.

3

Open the Import dialog

Click the ↑ Import symbols icon in the Watchlist Pro toolbar to open the bulk import dialog.

4

Paste and confirm

Paste the converted output from this tool into the dialog and click Add to watchlist. Your stocks appear instantly — click any symbol to load its chart.

Frequently asked questions

What format does Watchlist Pro require for bulk import?
Each symbol must be on its own line in EXCHANGE:SYMBOL format — for example, NSE:RELIANCE or BSE:500180. This tool adds the exchange prefix automatically.
Is there a limit on how many symbols I can convert?
Watchlist Pro accepts up to 1,000 symbols per import. This tool can convert any number of symbols, but if your list exceeds 1,000, split it into batches before importing into the extension.
Is my stock list sent to a server?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your symbols are never uploaded, stored, or logged on our servers. Read our Privacy Policy for more details.
Can I import F&O (Futures & Options) symbols?
Yes. Watchlist Pro supports F&O symbols in the same EXCHANGE:SYMBOL format. Paste the full F&O symbol name (e.g. NIFTY24SEPFUT) and select the correct exchange before converting.
I copied symbols from Chartlink / Screener.in — will this work?
Yes. Most Indian stock screeners export plain NSE symbols without the exchange prefix. Paste the list here, select NSE, and convert. If the screener uses comma-separated output, that works too — no need to reformat in Excel first.
What if a symbol is not found after importing?
Double-check the exchange is correct (NSE vs BSE). For newly listed or IPO stocks, open Watchlist Pro Settings inside the extension and tap Update Symbols to refresh the symbol database. See the main FAQs for more troubleshooting tips.
Do I need to install anything to use this tool?
No. This Import Utility works in any modern browser with no installation required. You only need the Watchlist Pro Chrome extension when you are ready to paste the converted symbols into Kite.
